About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking Assistant Engineering Managers to join their Power T&D team. Candidates should have a background in project or design engineering, with an understanding of electrical construction projects.

The primary responsibility is to assist the Engineering Manager and Delivery Teams in design and engineering tasks from project initiation to completion, ensuring scope clarity, design compliance, and timely, budget-conscious delivery.
What you'll be doing
* Coordinate contract requirements with Project Managers, clients, suppliers, and departments post-contract award.
* Meet with Design Delivery teams to identify project needs, timelines, and costs.
* Control, update, and report workload progress, highlighting issues and solutions.
* Report scope variations, seek approvals, and manage changes.
* Develop and revise detailed design project plans.
* Monitor project performance for timely delivery.
* Prepare and submit status reports to stakeholders.
* Specify and quantify equipment/materials for optimal benefit.
* Coordinate with stakeholders for efficient project execution.
* Deliver projects to clients such as National Grid, SSE, Scottish Power, or DNO network.

* A relevant degree or experience.
* Experience in engineering design and project administration.
* Excellent project controls, administration, and interpersonal skills.
* Solid engineering and project management knowledge.
