Come be part of the Asset Technical Department of ExxonMobil Canada Energy. Our offices are located on the East Coast of Canada in St. John’s, Newfoundland with a workforce of nearly 250 people and two world class offshore production assets.
What Role You Will Play In Our Team
ExxonMobil Canada is seeking a geoscience student to support upstream operations in Eastern Canada. The successful applicant will support two world‑class offshore facilities, Hibernia and Hebron. You will work with an integrated team of Geoscientists and Reservoir Engineers on a project related to ExxonMobil Canada’s east coast portfolio. You will be required to give a presentation on an assigned project at the end of your work term.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities may include work related to:
* Integrated seismic interpretation
* Geologic model building
* Geologic mapping
* Development drilling
* Well log analysis
About You
Skills and Qualifications
* Geological Engineering, Geology or Geophysics student (≥3rd year undergraduate; M. Sc. or Ph. D)
* Currently enrolled in a University Geoscience program and returning to full‑time studies after the work term
* Must submit an academic transcript by the deadline; applicants without a transcript will not be considered. If you have applied previously, please submit an updated transcript.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
* Willingness to contribute in a fast‑paced, highly technical and globally competitive work environment
* Ability to find innovative solutions to challenging production, development and commercial problems
* Demonstrates initiative, independence and accountability for tasks and recognizes their impact on the business
* Strong oral and written communication skills and familiarity with technical report writing
* Previous petroleum industry experience is preferred but not essential
* Work schedule: Full Time
