SEN Teaching Assistant Resource Base KS1 & KS2 September, permanent £22,000 SN 11 I am working with a vibrant CofE Primary school located in Calne. They are part of the Diocese of Salisbury and enjoy the support of being part of a multi academy trust. This school has an exciting opportunity for a resource base SEND teaching assistant to join both Key Stage 1 and 2. They also have a music development strategy in place that they encourage all staff and pupils to be a part of. You will play a vital role throughout the school developing children's educational, emotional and social development by working with groups of children in a resource base offering a more tailored approach to their learning. It is important you gain an understanding of each child's individual needs, whether working 1:1 or as part of a group. Responsibilities: Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to pupils. Providing one to one support during class. Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher. Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps. Understanding the individual needs of pupils to best support them in class. Helping pupils transition between the resource base and mainstream schooling. Requirements: Previous experience working with SEND children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively. Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students. Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND. An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
