Drainage Engineer Van Pack
Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
Location: Crawley Depot (Crawley, West Sussex) – door-to-door work once competent.
Job Type: Permanent, full time.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week; flexible hours, weekends, on-call rota.
Salary: £30,500 per annum.

About The Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer‑focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract to deliver effective solutions to waste‑water network and drainage problems.
* Travel to residential sites in a van, responsible for vehicle operations.
* Power a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report accurately on specialist equipment.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Deliver excellent customer service.
* Maintain good H&S practice during all works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities: PPE, safe site set‑ups, lone‑worker system, etc.
* Use VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions using correct PPE.
* Dynamically risk‑assess site access and working conditions upon arrival.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions with training.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities.
* Perform other reasonable ad‑hoc duties requested by management.
About You
The ideal candidate is hard‑working, respectful, and complies with health and safety standards. Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and confined spaces) are an advantage.
You must have a full UK driver’s licence.
