The role
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory requirements
* Certify work completed in accordance with Part 145 or equivalent approvals
* Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
* Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately and in compliance with standards
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and performance
This is a full‑time role based at RAF Cosford. Shift patterns for this role are 40 hours per week, including weekends. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required.
Essential Experience
* Demonstrating experience working in a regulated aviation maintenance environment
* Applying strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
* Holding relevant type ratings or experience across similar aircraft platforms
* Working effectively within a team while maintaining high attention to detail
* Communicating clearly with stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met
Qualifications
* Type rating(s) on relevant aircraft (desirable)
* Human Factors and EWIS training (desirable)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many positions are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship and residency.
