PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £32,000 - £34,559 + London Weighting (at £5,441) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The EastEnders Design team are looking for a new CAD & Production Design Archivist! This new member of the team will ensure accurate and accessible design assets by converting drawings into digital formats, generating studio and set plans, and maintaining comprehensive physical and digital archives.
The CAD & Production Design Archivist supports our teams with precise CAD work, cataloguing, and photographic documentation, while safeguarding continuity and compliance. It requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and collaboration to deliver high-quality resources that deliver into the powerhouse production of the famous Albert Square.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Convert and update drawings – Make changes to existing drawings and convert legacy paper drawings into accurate digital CAD formats.
* Create and maintain archives – Identify, catalogue, index, and preserve both physical and digital design assets, including photographic archives.
* Generate detailed plans – Produce precise blueprints, ground plans, and technical drawings for sets and studios.
* Manage databases and metadata – Create and update digital databases to ensure accessibility and continuity of design information.
* Collaborate and ensure compliance – Support and assist EastEnders block Designers, Art Directors, Construction and Prop personnel. In addition, staying informed on industry trends, and adhere to BBC editorial and accessibility guidelines.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Demonstrable proficiency in CAD software, databases, and archival tools, plus photography skills with SLR cameras.
* One to two years’ experience in an art department, ideally within TV.
* Demonstrable strong communication skills, in particular explaining design decisions and supporting designers, art directors, and production teams.
* Ability to work autonomously, anticipate needs, and make information accessible.
* Evidenced experience in cataloguing, database management, and maintaining continuity images.
Desirable Criteria
* Competence with CAD Software on both Mac and PC
