The Integrated Logistical Support Engineer (analyst) will be responsible for ensuring that systems, equipment and products are designed, maintained and supported through their lifecycle in the most cost-effective and efficient way. The role will provide direct support to UK MOD programmes analysing supportability requirements, developing logistical strategies, with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to optimise readiness, reliability, and sustainment performance.
Ultimately, the ILS Support Engineer (analyst) will act as an internal and external consultant to ensure SNC MS UK adheres to and incorporates best practice ILS programme delivery within the MOD’s current Spiral Acquisition context.
Key responsibilities
Supportability analysis & planning
* Conduct Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) to determine support requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
* Perform Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).Develop and maintain supportability models, provisioning data, and logistics product databases.
Technical documentation - Production of ILS documentation, such as:
* Through Life Management Plans (TLMP).
* Integrated Logistical Plans (ISP)’s.
* Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR).
* Logistical Information Repositories (LIR).
* Supportability Case Reports (SCR).
* Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
* Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
* Technical publications and Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC).
* Ensure technical documentation meets contract, MOD, and industry standards.
Lifecycle sustainment
* Support design reviews by providing input on maintainability, modularity, and lifecycle cost.
* Define maintenance concepts, support strategies, and preventative/predictive maintenance tasks.
* Assess spare parts requirements, obsolescence risks, and supply chain vulnerabilities.
Configuration & data management
* Maintain accurate configuration control of logistic data and system baselines and work with engineering teams to implement updates, changes, and corrective actions.
Customer & stakeholder collaboration
* Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, and maintenance teams to ensure integrated supportability.
* Provide technical support to customers, end-users, and field service teams.
* Support training development, provisioning conferences, and customer reviews.
Person specification
Required qualifications
* Batchelor’s Degree/NVQ level 6 in Engineering, Logistics, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience with ILS, LSA, or sustainment engineering in a technical environment.
* Familiarity with standards such as DEF STAN 00-600, MIL-STD-1388, S3000L, or similar.
* Working knowledge of reliability engineering, maintainability principles, and lifecycle costing.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience in defence, aerospace, maritime, transportation, or other regulated industries.
* Understanding of configuration management and engineering change processes.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Experience supporting bids, proposals, or government contracts.

Competitive salary: £ 36,501.00 - £ 54,751.50 depending on experience.
