A brand new (Sept 23), inspiring SEN school in Barnet are searching for a passionate and committed SEN Teacher, to join their warm and welcoming team, within their brand new Early Years and Primary Cohort building. The SEN school provides support to children aged 5 19, with significant sensory sensitivities relating to their autism.
All students have the potential to achieve academically through the full range of the National Curriculum, adapted to suit their learning style and individual needs.

Working in a SEN School for children aged 5 19 with sensory difficulties and autism
Primary department
Delivering creative and stimulating SEN lessons
Establish a safe, purposeful and welcoming learning environment with a child centered approach
Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for individual needs
Be a positive role model for all pupils
Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self control and independence
Promoting a lifelong love of learning for children to reach their full potential
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
Work collaboratively with allied health professionals and support staff
Follow the principles and pedagogy of the school, contributing to their values and ethos
Outer London pay scale MPS 1 M6 + SEN allowance

Person Specification Primary SEN Teacher
MUST HAVE UK QTS
Good academics required - GCSEs, A Levels and Degree
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum & teaching standards
Personal or professional experience working with SEN
Knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and monitoring systems to drive meaningful outcomes
Proven record of good / outstanding feedback from lesson observations / performance management
Ability to lead classroom assistants
Resilient and adaptable
Ability to differentiate approach based on individual needs
Enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive impact on pupils with SEN
Caring and compassionate nature
Confident, with strong behaviour management skills
Ability to work well as a team, but also independently on your own initiative, with strong communication
