What you’ll do
As a Staff Nurse you’ll work as part of an experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. You’ll work on a variety of complex cases, using the latest treatments, tools and techniques to provide the best possible care for your patients. You’ll bring haematology or oncology experience and have the ability to lead and motivate a team, with opportunities to grow your career within a leading cancer care provider.
The haematology unit delivers high standards of holistic care with a low nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3). We treat patients with a variety of haematological malignancies, including systemic anti-cancer treatments for acute leukaemia, high-grade lymphomas and multiple myeloma, and manage treatment side effects. Stem cell transplants (allograft and autograft) are delivered on the unit. The unit is JACIE accredited in partnership with The Christie Trust haematology transplant programme and has planned adoption of innovative CAR T cell treatments and bispecific therapies in the near future. There is a clinical practice facilitator who provides ongoing clinical training and education, including cell therapy study days and opportunities to attend national and international conferences. Two haematology cancer nurse specialists support patients and staff on the unit. Patient care is consultant-led with 24/7 resident doctors and support from a critical care outreach team.
