Systemic anti-cancer treatment (sact) staff nurse mru

Hereford
NHS
Staff nurse
Posted: 16 September
Offer description

Overview

Macmillan Renton Unit is an outpatient unit providing services such as Haematology, Oncology, Gynaecology, Breast Clinics, Urology and Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) to patients within Herefordshire and surrounding areas. We are a satellite site for Cheltenham hospital, allowing treatment closer to patients’ homes. Hours worked are flexible by negotiation to suit the service and the applicant for a good work-life balance.

Due to investment to future-proof the systemic anti-cancer treatment staff nurse team in the oncology treatment unit and internal progression, there is an opportunity for a number of band 5 nurses to permanently join our team. Various hours could be available to the right candidate. We will invest in successful candidates to complete their SACT administration competencies through further education online or through Cheltenham (Gloucester University). We will support and honour set study days to complete this course. We would also welcome those already with SACT competencies to apply.

This is a rewarding and exciting role requiring excellent leadership, management, communication, organisational skills and the ability to foster good working relationships, offering care in a professional manner.

For more information please contact Ruth Morgan on extension 5619 or email Ruth.morgan@wvt.nhs.uk

Main duties

This is a well-supported role; you will need sound leadership, communication and organisational skills and the ability to foster good working relationships, offering care in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will be progressive, able to work autonomously with support from the multi-disciplinary team. You will be able to evidence proven consolidation of your post-registration practice, ideally in an area that demonstrates a commitment to further development and transferable skills.
