Major Duties & Responsibilities
* 25% – Defines and leads the global EHS&S strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management, facilities strategy, and business priorities across R&D, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Commercial functions.
* 20% – Establishes enterprise-level governance, standards, and management systems for environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and sustainability, ensuring consistent implementation and accountability worldwide.
* 15% – Serves as the senior executive owner of EHS&S risk, providing oversight of significant risks, incidents, regulatory matters, and emerging issues, and ensuring appropriate escalation and mitigation.
* 15% – Leads and develops a global EHS&S leadership organization, including functional, regional, and systems leadership, building capability, succession, and leadership depth.
* 10% – Oversees enterprise EHS&S performance monitoring and assurance, including management reviews, audits, metrics, and corrective actions, driving continuous improvement and sustained performance.
* 10% – Acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on EHS&S implications of business strategy, capital investments, acquisitions, and transformation initiatives.
* 5% – Represents the organization externally with regulators, industry bodies, and other stakeholders on EHS&S and sustainability matters.
Other Duties
Provides executive leadership during crisis management situations involving significant safety, environmental, or sustainability risk. Sponsors enterprise-wide EHS&S transformation, capability-building, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
Required Years of Related Experience: Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental, health, safety, sustainability, facilities risk, operations or related disciplines, including senior leadership roles with global scope in complex, multi-site, and regulated operating environments.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrated global leadership experience, including accountability for strategy, governance, and performance across multiple regions and geographies.
* Proven ability to lead large, globally distributed organizations with both functional and regional leadership structures.
* Deep expertise in environmental, health, safety, and sustainability management systems, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
* Experience advising executive leadership on EHS&S risks, opportunities, and implications of business strategy and capital investment.
* Exceptional leadership presence, judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive and board-adjacent levels.
