Key Responsibilities required for the Junior Business Development Manager
1. Make high-volume outbound B2B calls
2. Generate new business via cold data outreach, marketing campaigns, and social media.
3. Qualify SME B2B prospects and manage them through the sales cycle.
4. Identify cross/upsell opportunities (billing, validation, carbon reduction, green energy).
5. Build relationships, manage contract negotiations working closely with the Commercial Manager.
6. Build a strong pipeline of opportunities, track activity in CRM and report on pipeline progress.
7. Collaborate with Account Managers post-contract to enhance client relationships.
8. Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.
Skills and Experience required for the Junior Business Development Manager
9. 2 years+ energy sector experience (lead generation, solution sales).
10. Proven ability in new business and cold outreach/outbound calling.
11. Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
12. Commercial awareness of the SME/B2B energy market.
13. Organised, target-driven, and collaborative.
14. Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and social media for BD activity.
15. Motivated to progress into a senior BDM role.
