What’s the mission?
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will prioritize engineering activities, ensuring health, safety, environmental standards, quality, and performance are met. You will develop strategies aligned with business objectives, foster a proactive safety and performance culture, and lead a team of 15+ engineers. Your role includes providing technical guidance, supporting performance improvements, and implementing RCA and LEAN projects. A strong engineering and people management background is essential.
The role involves a day shift pattern of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for covering the Site Engineering Manager.
What are the essential skills?
* Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications (apprenticeship)
* 3+ years of experience in medium/large automated manufacturing
* Leadership experience managing a large engineering team in a unionized environment
* IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate
* Experience with CMMS and stock control systems
* Knowledge of engineering KPIs
* Project management and change management experience
* Understanding of OEE and lean manufacturing techniques (preferred)
