CNC Turner
Location: Lymington, Hampshire
Salary: £33,000 - £45,000 DOE
Hours: 39 hours per week, early finish Friday
We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a precision engineering team in Lymington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CNC lathe experience who enjoys working on high-precision components in a quality-focused machine shop.
The role
You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes, working to job cards, set-up sheets, and engineering drawings. The role requires a strong understanding of machining techniques, geometric tolerances, and best practice within a precision manufacturing environment.
You will be working with minimum supervision, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained at all times, while contributing to continuous improvement across the machine shop.
Key responsibilities
Set and operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision components.
Follow job card instructions, set-up sheets, and process documentation.
Interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances accurately.
Ensure all work complies with quality and safety standards.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet production requirements.
Maintain a safe working environment and follow company procedures.
Support continuous improvement within the machine shop.
Carry out any other duties appropriate to your skills and ability.What we’re looking for
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with large components in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Experience operating Mazak controls is essential.
Experience with Fanuc controls would be beneficial.
Strong ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
Good understanding of GD&T.
Experience with modern tooling and machining techniques.
Ability to programme, set, and operate CNC machine tools.
Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering desirable.
Security clearance may be required.Why join us?
