Salaried GPwith view to Partnership (6 - 8 sessions per week)

Preferreddays of work Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

We areseeking to recruit a Salaried GP with view to Partnership.

KingswayMedical Centre holds a Sponsor licence for a skilled worker.

We offer aflexible and supportive working environment, ideal for new GPs or experiencedGPs looking for a new challenge; the GP Partners have a range of experiencebetween 9 and 19 years, with two Partners having completed Registrar trainingat the practice.

Key Information :

Teaching practice with Registrars and Medical Students

Timings of sessions can be flexible

CQC Good rating with outstanding in responsive

Phone system enables remote working

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range ofhealth needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of carefor all registered and temporary patients.


About us

Kingsway Medical Centre is a training practice with Medical Students and GP registrars.

Whilst we work extremely hard, the culture of the practiceis friendly and welcoming. Prior toretirement, several members worked at Kingsway for over 30 years. We have an informal meeting room where teammembers often enjoy lunch together.

The GP team meet daily for an informal coffee catch up/peer support.

The team comprises of :

Three GP Partners (2 of whom trained at the practice andstayed on).

Three Nurse Practitioners providing acute appointments.

Three Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant.

The support team comprises of 10 receptionists and aseparate admin team.


Job responsibilities

Reports clinically to the GP Partners/administratively to the PracticeManager

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range ofhealth needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of carefor all registered and temporary patients.

Clinical Responsibilities

Inaccordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will makehim/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgeryconsultations, telephone/electronic consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation

Assessingthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems

Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness

Inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease managementprotocols, developing care plans for health

Providinghealth education

Admittingor discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate

Referpatients for further opinions and interventions according to Practice protocols

Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

Collectingdata for audit purposes

Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions

Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate

Participatein the training of medical students/Registrars as required

Ingeneral the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care

Awarenessof and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, egprescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety

Acommitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based bestpractice

Contributingto evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation

Contributingto the development of computer-based patient records

Contributingto the summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data

Attendingtraining and events organised by the practice or other agencies, whereappropriate

Inthe performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holdermay have access to confidential information relating to patients and theircarers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have accessto information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All suchinformation from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential

Informationrelating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or thebusiness of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons inaccordance with the practice policies and procedures relating toconfidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data

The post-holderwill assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safetyand security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, to include:

Usingpersonal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines

Identifyingthe risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a waythat manages those risks

Makingeffective use of training to update knowledge and skills

Usingappropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy andsafe way and free from hazards

Providinginformation regarding immune status with particular regard to Hep B

Willparticipate fully in attaining QOF points, ensuring clinical database isupdated promptly and accurately

Person Specification


Experience

* Chronic disease management
* Delivery of QOF targets
* Time management, being able to prioritise work and work under pressure


Qualifications

* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
