We’re working with lovely primary schools across central Bristol who are on the lookout for confident, enthusiastic Phonics Specialists to support pupils with early reading and literacy development.
This is flexible, part-time work that can fit around your schedule, perfect if you want a better work-life balance without stepping away from the classroom completely.
You’ll be helping children build confidence with reading, blending, segmenting, and all those little lightbulb moments that make phonics such a rewarding area to support. Some pupils just need a boost. Others need someone patient, creative, and encouraging to help things click. That’s where you come in.
Driving is preferred for this role, as you may be supporting different schools across Bristol and surrounding areas.
What you’ll be doing:
* Delivering phonics interventions and small group support
* Supporting early reading and literacy development
* Working alongside teachers to reinforce phonics schemes
* Encouraging pupil confidence and engagement
* Helping create positive, supportive learning environments
We’d love to hear from you if you:
* Have experience supporting phonics in a primary setting
* Understand schemes such as Read Write Inc, Little Wandle, or Letters and Sounds
* Are energetic, patient, and confident working with young learners
* Can build strong relationships quickly
* Hold a driving licence and have access to a car, preferred but not essential
