Our clients are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will support the payroll process by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments, maintaining payroll records, and assisting with human resources functions. Duties
* Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll using recognised accounting software such as Freshpay, Xero or similar systems.
* Enter data accurately into payroll and accounting systems.
* Support accounts payable functions related to payroll transactions.
* Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for management review.
* Maintain organised payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Collaborate with human resources to verify employee information and resolve payroll discrepancies.
* Assist with year-end reporting.
* Provide administrative support for tasks as required.
Skills
* Experience in payroll or bookkeeping preferable but not essential, for the right candidate.
* Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
* Experience with accounts payable processes and financial reconciliations
* Analytical skills to interpret data and prepare comprehensive reports.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members across departments. This position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, proactive, and eager to develop expertise in payroll administration within a professional environment.
