About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance and engineering team. This hands-on role involves building, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment in both workshop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Field Maintenance
Build, strip down, inspect, and service mechanical/hydraulic equipment (e.g. paint pumps, blast pots, ventilation systems, high-pressure washers)
Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs to rental fleet equipment
Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and post-hire assessments
Site Services Support
Support installation, mobilisation, and demobilisation of equipment on client sites
Attend breakdowns and perform minor on-site repairs
Comply with all client site-specific safety protocols
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs
Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, ATEX, and internal quality procedures
Team Collaboration
Work closely with Rental, Stores, and Engineering teams to coordinate equipment availability
Report recurring faults or opportunities for equipment/process improvement
Support mentoring of junior staff and apprentices when needed
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a mechanical fitter or maintenance engineer
Experience working on heavy/industrial equipment
Competence with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals
Basic electrical awareness (advantageous)
Experience in industrial, marine, or offshore environments (preferred)
Full UK driving licence (essential)
