Senior Residential Support Worker (OFSTED Children's Residential Home)

Salary package of £31,000 – £33,000 excluding sleep-in allowance (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a committed and resilient Senior Residential Support Worker to play a key role in supporting young people with EBD at their children's home located in Hertfordshire (HP3). You will act as a role model and take the lead in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care.

Candidate will possess a good understanding of OFSTED regulations and compliance requirements, along with experience of working at a children's home.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans
2. Lead shifts and support the team with guidance, mentoring and supervision
3. Promote a safe, nurturing and structured environment
4. Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and key working sessions
5. Support with staff induction and training
6. Ensure safeguarding procedures are consistently followed

Requirements:

7. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare – desirable
8. Minimum 2 years' experience working in a residential childcare setting
9. Strong communication and team leadership skills
10. A sound understanding of safeguarding and therapeutic approaches to care
11. Full UK driving licence – desirable

Hours:

37.5hrs Full-Time. Shift work including weekends, evenings and nights plus sleep-ins (separate sleep-in rate)
