You know that moment when a student finally gets it… whether it’s balancing equations or understanding forces for the first time? That’s the good stuff.
We’re working with a range of secondary schools across Redcar looking for a Science Teacher who can bring energy, clarity, and a bit of curiosity into the classroom. Whether you specialise in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a bit of everything, there’s a place for you here.
What you’ll be doing:
* Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
* Breaking down complex topics into “aha” moments
* Creating a classroom where students feel confident to ask questions
* Keeping lessons engaging, practical, and meaningful
What we’re looking for:
* Experience teaching Science in a secondary school (KS3/KS4 essential)
* QTS is highly desirable, but strong unqualified teachers with classroom experience are welcome
* Solid behaviour management and a calm, confident presence
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or happy to apply for one
Why this role works:
* Flexible options, from part-time supply to full-time long-term roles
* Supportive schools where you can actually focus on teaching
* Opportunities to build consistency or keep things varied, depending on what you prefer
And if you’re not already Thrive trained, it’s definitely worth a look. Schools are placing more focus on emotional wellbeing, and having that extra skillset can really set you apart. We offer the training for free, so it’s an easy win for your CV and your classroom confidence.
