The role of a Apprentice Emergency Care Assistant can be challenging yet rewarding and will without question change the lives of people around you, for the better.
Responsibilities include:
Driving a range of organisation vehicles
Carry out general vehicle and equipment checks
Maintain good knowledge of the highway code
Maintaining clinical cleanliness of your equipment and vehicles
Maintaining clinical competence and attendance of CPD events to continue your learning journey
Supporting others including clinicians in the delivery of emergency care
Attentive to patients individual needs
Demonstrate and maintain respect for others including patients
Display and conduct yourself in a diplomatic and tactful way when dealing with challenging patients or incidents
Be smart in appearance
Timely in your work attendance
Demonstrate a supportive and enthusiastic approach to your duties
Maintain good working relationships with other professionals
Undertake duties as required by the organisation to maintain operational readiness
Complete the End Point Assessment within your apprenticeship
This list is not exhaustive.
No two days are the same, you will have a variety of shifts including the delivery of emergency care onboard our frontline 999 ambulances attending anything from Major Incidents through to Road Traffic Collisions or medical emergencies. You will also work within our clinical centres at major venues including some of the UK's leading concerts which includes audiences in the tens of thousands supporting acts such as Lewis Capaldi, Lionel Richie, Gladiators (the TV show) and more. You will be deployed to work across our TV/Film sector covering stunt scenes such as Mission Impossible (a production which we previously covered with Tom Cruise) and many more – we really do deliver emergency care across all sectors, and so could you.
We will support you in the development of your healthcare career. We are one of few providers within the UK whom offer varied career pathways including Paramedic Science. If you are wanting to obtain experience and develop onto any role up to and including Technician or Paramedic, Echo can support this journey.
The Apprentice Emergency Care Assistant role has been a success throughout and now we are recruiting for more great people to join our next cohorts which starts in October 2025. Interviews and right to work checks including Enhanced DBS checks would need to be passed and completed prior to the offer of a position.

A full UK driving license is essential, with a minimum of 1 years claim free driving experience.
13 Month Apprenticeship; starting salary £18,525 rising to £23,809 after first 12 months. With potential OTE of up to £33,696 as a qualified and competent staff member/applicant.
*OTE based on a qualified and competent applicant completing 48 hours per week (4x typical 12 hour shifts)
