Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a range of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, breads, rice dishes, and vegetarian options.
* Assist in daily mise en place (chopping, marinating, sauce preparation, spice blends).
* Operate kitchen equipment safely, including tandoori oven, grills, and fryers.
* Maintain consistency in flavour, presentation, and portion sizes.
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures in line with UK regulations.
* Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas, equipment, and storage.
* Support stock rotation, labelling, and minimising food waste.
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Indian Chef, Curry Chef, or Tandoori Chef in a professional kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of Indian spices, flavours, and cooking methods.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Commitment to maintaining high food hygiene standards.
Desirable
* Experience working in a team-oriented kitchen.
* Food hygiene or catering qualification.
* Willingness to learn and develop skills further.
