Community Staff Nurse – Bridgwater Bay, Somerset | Sponsorship Available
About the Role Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Community Staff Nurse team based at Bridgwater Bay. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide care in patients’ homes across both urban and rural areas of West Somerset, working alongside a friendly and highly skilled team. Newly qualified nurses are welcome, with preceptorship support available.
You will deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes, managing complex health needs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role involves day shifts, twilight shifts, and weekend work, with flexible working options available to support work‑life balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide holistic nursing care to patients in their homes
* Manage complex health issues including IV medication, wound care, palliative and end‑of‑life care, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, and drain tube management
* Collaborate with Hospital@Home and other teams to prevent acute admissions
* Make autonomous clinical decisions and create care plans with team support
* Document care accurately and liaise with colleagues and Team Leaders
* Participate in training and development under the guidance of Clinical Lead nurses
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Registered Nurse (RN) with current UK professional registration
* BSc Adult Nursing or RDNA Adult Nursing qualification
* Car driver with own vehicle (mileage allowance provided)
Desirable
* Experience in community nursing or similar care settings

* Salary/Pay: £32,073–£39,043 per year (Agenda for Change, Band 5)

Location
Bridgwater Community Hospital, Bower Lane, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 4GU. Role involves travel across Bridgwater Bay and West Somerset.
Timeline
* Closing date: April 28, 2026
* Working pattern: Full‑time or part‑time, with day shifts (8am–4pm, 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm), one twilight shift per week (2pm–10pm), and one weekend in four. No night shifts.
