About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Development/ Drainage Engineer to join our Rail team to work in Preston Depot, Birmingham .
Role Purpose
We are looking for someone to continue with the development of drainage and rail jobs within our current work bank and to submit development plans and job scopes to the client and to attend all relevant meetings.
What you'll be doing
As a Development/ Drainage Engineer, your main accountabilities will be as follows:
1. Assist in the detailed planning and execution of Track and drainage Renewals and Enhancement Works as allocated by the Renewals Manager.
2. Responsible for planning and organising remits from from the yearly workbank.
3. Attend relevant meetings as required.
4. Manage the work to meet agreed finacial targets, performance KRAs and other KPI's.
5. Manage works in compliance with all relevant Saftey Legislation and Welfare Regilations.
6. Manage works in compliance with the CRSA technical specifications, processes and procedures and Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
7. Input close calls and good practices.
8. Participate in the Alliance Saftey Briefing Programme.
9. You will be working 2 weekends out of 4.
Who we're looking for
The following personal qualities and experience are required:
10. Demonstrable experience in permanent track and drainage also have a understanding in developing work training will be provided.
11. Excellent knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards.
12. Knowledge of network rail standards and Balfour Beatty standards.
13. Excellent interpersonal, communication and man management skills
14. Ability to write clear and concise reports
15. Ability to drive.

17. Computer Literate.
