TG28255500- Exhibitions Assistant: This is an exciting opportunity to join Tate Britain, supporting the delivery of our programme. Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about the arts? Tate Britain is seeking an Exhibitions Assistant to contribute to the planning, coordination, and administration of the artistic programme, supporting the smooth delivery of projects that inspire and engage audiences.
You’ll be at the heart of bringing exhibitions to life. You’ll organise and minute key meetings, book rooms and catering, support curators with accurate record-keeping, maintain exhibition checklists, and help prepare essential loan documentation. You’ll arrange travel and courier bookings, source props and materials, and assist with production duties for programmes. You’ll also update 2D and 3D layouts using SketchUp, coordinate courier appointments, and provide on-the-ground support during installation periods—acting as a point of contact, overseeing deliveries, and assisting with vitrine installations. You’ll help with research, sourcing images and publications, preparing presentations, and archiving programme information.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of Tate Britain’s exhibitions, displays and commissions.
* Assist with planning, coordination, and administration of the exhibitions programme.
* Organise meetings, take minutes, book rooms and catering, and maintain accurate records.
* Maintain exhibition checklists and assist with loan documentation.
* Arrange travel, courier bookings, props and materials; assist with production duties.
* Update 2D/3D layouts (SketchUp) and coordinate courier appointments.
* Provide on-the-ground support during installation periods and oversee deliveries and vitrine installations.
* Assist with research, sourcing images/publications, preparing presentations, and archiving information.
* Collaborate with the Programme and Finance Manager and Exhibitions Assistants on programme management and administration.
Qualifications and Attributes
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills; ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Interest in and commitment to working for Tate.
* Willingness to bring transferable skills and experience.
