Exciting times await you at RAC! Our rapidly growing Service, Maintenance, and Repairs (SMR) division is on the lookout for a passionate SMR Commercial Manager. In this pivotal role, you will drive commercial performance and operational decision-making, working closely with our Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the SMR Commercial Director. Your insights will shape both tactical and strategic outcomes, all while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work model from our Bristol or Midlands offices.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Deliver timely, actionable analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.
* Investigate and explain margin, revenue, and conversion movements, using data to identify root causes and formulate corrective plans.
* Conduct analysis across key metrics including profitability, pricing, job cancellations, productivity, repair mix, and channel mix.
* Support weekly trading decisions with fast-turnaround insights and scenario modeling.
* Develop and test hypotheses to improve commercial outcomes.
* Collaborate with the SMR Data Team to evolve ad hoc analysis into scalable KPIs.
* Prepare and present weekly reports for senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity and commercial relevance.
* Support pricing strategies for new commercial agreements and product offerings.
* Own and maintain SMR business KPIs and ensure consistency in their definitions.
* Facilitate weekly trade processes across channel and operational owners to ensure a commercially and operationally sound outlook.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of margins, pricing, and trade levers.
* Highly analytical and grounded in fact, with the ability to think critically and independently.
* Proven problem-solving skills using data and structured thinking.
* Comfortable making quick, tactical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in Excel, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets.
* Confident communicator, capable of managing senior stakeholder conversations and presenting insights clearly.
* Resilient, adaptable, and self-motivated with a dynamic, positive attitude.
* Financial background is advantageous but not essential.
