Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week), 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, agile working.

Do you have a strong technical background in construction? Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of quality across new build, improvement, and refurbishment projects? Can you confidently work on-site, problem-solve independently, and uphold health and safety compliance? If so, we want to hear from you.

Job Purpose:

As aClerk of Works at Queens Cross Housing Association, you will be responsible for delivering quality inspection services across our Development and Investment programmes. Working closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams, you’ll ensure that projects are delivered in line with design specifications, building regulations, and the Association’s high standards. From overseeing on-site progress to managing post-completion defect inspections, your attention to detail and technical expertise will help us maintain safe, high-quality homes for our customers.

You don’t need to have worked in social housing before—but we’re looking for someone with the right knowledge, experience, and a strong customer focus.

You will:

* Deliver on-site inspections for new build and refurbishment projects
* Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design and specification standards
* Support the handover process and manage defects throughout the liability period
* Provide technical advice to internal teams, including maintenance staff
* Participate in design meetings and contribute to achieving contract objectives
* Uphold health and safety policies and promote sustainability
* Experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry, ideally housing
* Educated to HNC level in Construction Management or a related field
* Membership of the Institute of Clerks of Works (or working towards)
* Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation
* Ability to work independently across multiple sites and make informed decisions
