Our company N-GAGE Therapeutic Care provides creative holistic-led modalities, therapies and education for children and young people. Our objective is to empower them with the support, tools, strategies and healing for a healthier future.
We teach AQA qualifications to young people who are not currently in education or training. Your able to make a difference to these young people and we train in small groups where its very much child lead, at their pace.
We are currently hiring for our team based in Billericay, offering support to learners with ADHD, SEMH and ASC needs who may struggle in educational settings. We provide bespoke daily sessions, which operate on a 1:2 or small group basis. We work closely with the learners' support networks, both professional and family and try to create a holistic and engaging place for the learners to grow.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will also be expected to teach a range of beauty treatments and wellness/self care sessions with the learners who are enrolled on our beauty programme.
Working alongside AQA unit award scheme, plan and deliver effective, engaging lessons that will ignite their passion in beauty/hair. Training is at a basic level with students with no prior experience and have left school due to a range of reasons. Our aim is to put them on a pathway to pursue their further training, whilst building resilience and coping strategies for any barriers to learning.
Any additional training that may be required to enable this, will provided by the company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Use support-based and relationship-based approaches for the social, emotional and mental health needs of the learner.
* Plan engaging Beauty or Hair training sessions and activities based on the needs of the learner/s.
* Develop learners skills in key areas
* Support with Maths and English skills within the beauty industry
* Provide excellent behaviour management support skills to support learners who display behaviours that challenge.
* Completing report logs, progress reports as necessary – daily and termly.
* Working closely in a team of dedicated mentors.
* Providing admin support to the Centre Manager
Responsibilities of the post will also include:
* Goal setting for learners in conjunction with EHCPs and recommendations from schools/agencies.
* Contributing information to Centre Manager to update external agencies.
* Communication with parents/carers at drop off and pick up times.
* Reporting of accidents, incidents, and safeguarding when necessary.
* Reporting daily attendance through a web-based system.
* Lesson plans and Tutor notes
* Contributing to the general upkeep of the site, and resources.

* Beauty Therapy / Hairdressing experience
* Competent in teaching a range of basic beauty treatment
* Patient and calming teaching manor
* Excellent behaviour management skills with a high emphasis on solution-focused planning and delivery of bespoke SEMH skills program.
* Excellent support skills with a commitment to critical reflection and professional development.
* A learner-focused approach and ability to differentiate and create bespoke opportunities according to learner needs.
