Based at Anderson Stewart Castings in Glengarnock, North Ayrshire, we operate an investment casting foundry expertly casting in a range of materials, including stainless steels, alloys and aluminium. The heart and soul of the business is in creativity and innovation, and quality is the foundation that the business and reputation was built on. Due to continued investment, we are looking for a multi skilled Maintenance Engineer to undertake electrical and mechanical planned preventative maintenance, service, and breakdown of specialist foundry equipment, including furnaces, injection moulding presses, and various shotblasting equipment.
Requirements:
1. The successful candidate will be a time-served engineer with an electrical bias and excellent mechanical maintenance capabilities
2. Ideally qualified to a minimum HNC standard and can demonstrate a good knowledge of 415V electrical skills
3. Mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair skills
4. Welding/fabrication skills would be desirable
5. PAT testing experience/qualification
6. Experience of working in an engineering, or manufacturing environment
7. Self-motivated, I.T. literate, with an eye for detail
8. Tenacious with a can-do attitude
9. Effective communication skills
10. Adherence to all health and safety and company policies
11. Living within a commutable distance and providing evidence of the right to work in the UK
Responsibilities:
* Maintenance, service and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment on site
* Assisting manufacturing/production team in achieving targets and optimizing machine run times
* Prioritizing maintenance requests and carrying out planned, preventative maintenance effectively
* Understanding and supporting plant improvement projects
* Liaising with contractors on site
* Supporting the training and development of apprentices
* Practicing all safety and compliance requirements and encouraging others to do so
