Due to an operational restructure at our Bamber Bridge Manufacturing site, we are creating several new opportunities for experienced Production Managers to join our team. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will provide strong operational leadership, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing performance. You will take full ownership of your production area, supporting the Value Stream Senior Manager to deliver customer requirements, improve processes, and develop high-performing teams. You will also act as deputy for the Value Stream Senior Manager when. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environment Ensure a safe working environment through full compliance with Health & Safety policies, safe systems of work and correct PPE usage. Identify HSE risks and implement corrective and preventative improvements. Drive initiatives that minimise the environmental impact of manufacturing activities. Quality & Compliance Operate in line with company Quality Management Systems, ISO9001 and all relevant procedures. Ensure all processes, SOPs and control procedures are understood, adhered to, and appropriately trained out. Investigate and resolve safety or quality defects using effective Root Cause Analysis. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Operational Leadership Lead, coach and develop manufacturing teams to build a high performance culture and a strong “One Team” ethos. Ensure production schedules are achieved OTIF by managing resources effectively and monitoring standard operating times. Maintain accurate skills matrices, resource plans and training/development needs. Promote continuous improvement, employee engagement and cultural change across the area. Performance, Cost & Continuous Improvement Analyse manufacturing performance metrics; develop and deliver recovery plans where needed. Manage direct/indirect budgets, forecast costs, submit investment proposals and calculate ROI for improvements. Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives to strengthen the manufacturing cost base. Lead structured CI activities using tools such as Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen and Kanban. Support APQP processes for new products, processes and engineering changes. Oversee pilot builds and prototypes to ensure smooth industrialisation and high first-time quality. Process & Asset Management Ensure processes and procedures are robust, controlled and continuously improved. Maintain asset reliability through autonomous maintenance and calibration compliance. Drive strong manufacturing governance including project oversight, RAID analysis, resource planning and budgeting. Stakeholder, Supplier & Contractor Management Build strong working relationships across the value stream and wider business. Ensure effective management of suppliers, contractors and visitors, including adherence to permit systems and compliance requirements. Collaborate with logistics to maintain correct material levels and explore opportunities to reduce inventory. People Leadership & HR Responsibilities Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance, development and wellbeing. Complete performance reviews, set SMART objectives and ensure mandatory compliance training is completed. Champion engagement, communication and change leadership within your team. About You Essential Degree, HND, BTEC, NVQ Level 5 or equivalent qualification in manufacturing, engineering or a related discipline. Strong understanding of Lean tools (e.g., 5 Why, Kaizen, problem solving, WCM). Experience in Health & Safety management. Strong leadership skills with experience developing and motivating teams. Excellent communicator with strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills. Demonstrated experience delivering KPIs and managing production performance. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, PFMEAs and control plans. Working knowledge of ISO9001. Competent in Microsoft Office. Experience with budgeting, forecasting and basic financial principles. Desirable Working knowledge of SAP or M3. Green Belt or other improvement/Lean qualification.
