As a Waking Night Officer you will provide overnight care and support to children who are overnight residents at Bluebells. You will attend to a range of tasks relating to direct care and support to children and also carry out a variety of administrative and domestic duties during your shifts while the Bluebells service operates on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, including school holidays and public bank holidays. Working hours are 21:45 to 07:45 twice per week on any of the above days. A working rota is provided four weeks in advance. There is also an occasional requirement to be available during the daytime for training and team events.
Responsibilities:
* Provide overnight care and support to residential children.
* Respond urgently to any challenging or unexpected circumstances.
* Carry out administrative and domestic duties during shifts.
* Participate in occasional daytime training and team events.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Experience working with children in a residential or similar setting.
* Patient, nurturing, attentive to detail with a robust safeguarding approach.
* Strong ability to work independently and respond effectively to challenges.
* Aged 22 years or older (must be 4 years older than the oldest resident).
* Effective verbal communication in accurate spoken English (English Language Fluency Duty).
* Capacity to obtain enhanced DBS clearance; disclosure of any time spent abroad and provision of overseas criminal records certificate or statement of good conduct.
* Successful completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
