Join to apply for the Visiting Lecturer - Birmingham role at The University of Law. We are expanding our bank of Visiting Lecturers to join our academic team at the Birmingham campus. We are interested in applicants from any background that may be a fit for our Visiting Lecturer roles. Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will provide tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio, including postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses.
You will be challenged by students and course content and able to adapt to different learning styles and methods of course delivery. The role includes marking in-course assignments and final assessments, supporting students, and handling queries.
Responsibilities
* Teach and assess across The University of Law Business School course portfolio as assigned, including teaching and assessing spoken and written communication skills and providing individual feedback on performance.
Qualifications and Skills
* Master’s degree (in business and/or management subjects offered in the Business School) or professional qualifications (e.g., qualified accountant or CFA).
* Experience in teaching in Higher Education and working in an educational establishment.
* Organised with the ability to prioritise own workload.
* Excellent knowledge of academic theory and/or business practice in the relevant discipline.
* Confident and articulate presentation skills.
* Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities in a busy environment.
* Punctual with good time management and workload prioritisation.
* Flexible in terms of working hours to meet contract demands.
* Willing to engage in building awareness of the Business School.
* Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, recognising when advice/input is needed.
