Waste Audit & Contract Officer Grade 6 Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Waste Audit & Contract Officer to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting sustainable waste management practices by ensuring accurate waste audits and effective contract management. As a Grade 6 officer, you will work closely with internal teams and external contractors to monitor waste handling, ensure compliance with regulations, and optimise contract performance. Key Objectives Conduct thorough waste audits to assess waste streams and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage and monitor waste disposal contracts to ensure compliance, value for money, and service quality. Collaborate with stakeholders to support waste reduction initiatives and regulatory adherence. Provide accurate and timely reporting to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and execute waste audits across various sites and departments. Review and manage waste management contracts, including procurement, renewal, and performance monitoring. Ensure contractors comply with contractual obligations, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation. Analyse audit data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for waste reduction. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory bodies. Support the development and implementation of waste management policies and procedures. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices. Engage with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory agencies to foster collaborative working relationships. Requirements Proven experience in waste management, environmental auditing, or contract administration. Strong understanding of waste regulations, environmental compliance, and sustainability principles. Excellent organisational and project management skills with an eye for detail. Ability to analyse data and produce clear, concise reports. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and relevant data management systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications A relevant qualification in Environmental Management, Waste Management, Contract Management, or a related field.
