The Role
As a P6 Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development and management of detailed project programmes, supporting successful project delivery across multiple workstreams. You will work closely with the PMO, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure planning processes are robust and aligned with business and contractual requirements.
Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved in:
1. Supporting the PMO team in developing and updating accurate programmes and schedules in line with project and contractual requirements.
2. Producing tender programmes that deliver efficient and effective plans in accordance with design, specification, and scope.
3. Submitting programmes and associated reports within required deadlines.
4. Attending site when required to support the delivery and planning teams.
5. Producing and managing change event programmes in accordance with the contract, analysing both critical and non-critical paths, and reporting variations back to the delivery team.
6. Managing subcontract programmes and providing constructive feedback to improve programme delivery.
7. Producing dashboards and trackers to monitor project performance and support internal reporting.
8. Hosting and attending planning meetings to ensure all parties remain informed and aligned.
9. Preparing summary programmes, reports, and charts to communicate programme logic clearly to all stakeholders.
10. Supporting the development of junior members of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
11. Ensuring all programmes are resource and cost loaded in accordance with business and contractual requirements to support performance tracking and earned value management.
