Overview
Senior Systems Performance Architect - OS Modelling and Simulation position based in Cambridge. The role focuses on leading OS system performance, modelling and simulation for next-generation CPU and mobile operating system architectures. The architect identifies execution hotspots, defines performance metrics, drives software-hardware co-design and optimisation, and enhances product performance and energy efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Lead OS system performance modelling and simulation initiatives for next-generation CPU and mobile OS architectures.
* Identify execution hotspots and define performance metrics and targets.
* Drive software-hardware co-design, optimisation strategies and energy-efficiency improvements.
* Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate performance insights into actionable design decisions.
Qualifications
* Masters (or equivalent) with extensive experience in chip performance, CPU microarchitectures, modelling, and software-hardware optimisation.
* Deep understanding of chip design processes and system performance modelling and simulation tools (e.g., gem5, QEMU).
* Experience with software-hardware co-design methodologies is a bonus.
