Senior Communications Advisor – FalconWorks® Entities
We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Communications Advisor based at our Malloy Aeronautics business.
Your role will be to support the development and delivery of external communications strategies and activities to promote FalconWorks®’ growing portfolio of uncrewed systems and products across our entity businesses – to actively seek out and develop stories for external use (across all channels) that positively position the work we are doing across our key markets, including the UK.
You will work flexibly with the wider FalconWorks® and BAE Systems team members to support the development of good news stories, proactive creation and delivery of effective, integrated and targeted communications strategies and activities across key areas of our entity businesses in support of targeted communications activity and in support of product promotion and business winning activity.
Working closely with the FalconWorks Head of Communications and our entity teams, your role will be based in our Malloy Aeronautics business, working as part of a team to deliver media strategies, product launches and announcements and collaborate with colleagues to develop high quality, creative materials and marketing communications.

The Malloy Aeronautics Team:
Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.
What we're looking for in you:
You will be a trusted operator with good communications skills and knowledge. You will have the ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets, support the reputation of management activities and be a great communicator who can influence those around you and at different levels within the business.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Communications Advisor will involve:
* Creating and delivering effective, integrated and targeted communications strategies across our entity businesses in support of business winning activity.
* Delivering high-quality audience specific content (blogs, case studies, news releases and social media content) and storytelling to align with business objectives
* Building robust networks across the FalconWorks entity business teams and with our Air internal and external communications teams and Group communications teams, collaborating effectively to identify, understand and develop all available opportunities to tell our FalconWorks story across key campaigns and programmes.
* Supporting media outreach to create opportunities to tell our stories, and preparing our company spokespeople for these engagements.
* Supporting the communication of activities in support of the business’ key objectives (including to our internal audiences) and developing targeted, timely and measurement-driven reporting
* Support our entities with key events and exhibitions activity, including key message preparation and coordination.
Please note, this role will involve light travel throughout the UK.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience of contributing to successful media, marketing or communications campaigns and working across a number of different channels
* Self-motivated, with a positive, campaigning mind-set with a good awareness of the national and business news agenda
* Strong digital media skills and good verbal and written communication skills, able to produce well-written content including press releases and website copy.
* Proven influencing, communication and collaboration skills and ability to develop trusted relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and journalists.
* Sound project management skills and proven experience of managing competing demands and working to tight deadlines
* An ability to identify a good story and being able to develop news content that can demonstrate its value to the business and support our customer requirements
* Understand core principles and techniques of media engagement
Desirable
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a busy press office environment – either in-house or agency
* A recognised PR or equivalent qualification (e.g.CIPR, CIM)
