Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Hospital Services Finance Team as a Finance Business Partner for the Division of Surgery within Aneurin Bevan UHB. This is a permanent role seeking a commercially focused and experienced Accountant who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to help drive transformational change, including the recovery and future sustainability of key elective pathways.
The post holder will work with a variety of acute services within the Health Board, helping them meet financial challenges and providing influence and support. The role involves maintaining excellent relationships with finance, operational, and clinical stakeholders across multiple sites.
Main duties of the job
The individual will contribute significantly to developing and implementing financial policies to meet the Health Board’s financial objectives. They will also implement annual budget setting processes and provide financial advice on a wide range of issues.
Applicants should have a good understanding of financial and governance requirements, a track record of managing high-performing teams, and strong business partnering skills. Experience in NHS or similar large organization dealing with complex issues is preferred. Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential, with the ability to present financial data effectively to influence decision-making.
Knowledge of Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
