Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd are recruiting for a Site Engineer (enabling works) with a Civils bias to join an Overhead Lines Project (OHL) in Argyle, Scotland. You will focusing on supporting the team in enabling works phase of the overhead lines sites prior to tower assembly and erection.

As a Civils Site Engineer, you will oversee daily health & safety protocols for staff and subcontractors, report incidents, manage project resources, ensure compliance with safety standards, support the Construction and Project Managers with documentation and reporting, and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing team at Wood T&D, this role is site based on long term project based in Argyll supporting our client SSE.

The Role

Reporting to the OHL Construction Manager, you will oversee the Enabling Works and Access Roads management team, coordination of foremen,, and sub-contractors while liaising with clients and third parties, and manage the setting People to Work process, including onboarding and site inductions with our program to support a growing workload across overhead lines (OHL). You will be contributing to the increased network capacity required to deliver the UK government's pathway to 2030 and the transition to net zero.

Expected:

8. Demonstrable industry experience in a similar role
9. Possess a recognised Safety Qualification (such as IOSH or NEBOSH)
10. Previous experience in the management of sub-contractors and the recording of measurement details to enable financial settlement
11. Supervisory experience of technical aspects of construction, access and accommodation works, traffic management, scaffolds, metal access roads, yard setup, welfare facilities, foundations, conductor and fitting replacement works (desirable)
12. Willingness to work away from home regularly and for prolonged periods of time
13. Demonstrated experience with enabling, access roads and foundation construction in power transmission projects
14. Proven coordination with third parties (local councils, highway authorities, environment agencies, etc
