Overview
Mechanical Fitter – Location: Coleford. Contract: Permanent, Full-Time. Salary: Competitive + Shift Allowance + Excellent Benefits.
About the Role
Were looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Coleford. In this role, youll be responsible for assembling a range of pump systems – including electric and diesel-driven skid sets – to engineering drawings and specifications. Youll play an important part in delivering high-quality engineered products that meet customer and project requirements.
Responsibilities
* Assemble bare shaft pumps and complete electric and diesel skid sets following detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials.
* Identify and raise any assembly or quality issues with supervisors and QA engineers.
* Complete project documentation, including production data books and check sheets.
* Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, QA, planners, and the test team to ensure smooth workflow.
* Handle tools and materials responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
Skills & Experience
* Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
* Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
* Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a methodical approach to work.
Shift Pattern
Week 1: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00
Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-22:00; Friday, 06:00-14:00
(30-minute unpaid lunch break per day)
