Overview
Position: Quality Assurance Technician
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, 7am - 4pm
Team: Part of a Technical Team of three
Main Purpose
To ensure compliance with Health & Safety, BRCGS and TQS systems, supporting the Technical and Management teams in maintaining site standards and procedures.
Reporting Relationships
* Responsible to: HR Manager, Technical Manager, Director of Operations
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist the management team in running the business and its procedures.
* Ensure Health & Safety legislation is adhered to and policies enforced on site.
* Carry out internal audits (Hygiene, GMP, Glass & Clear Plastic, Fabrication, etc.) ensuring conformity.
* Label, trace and control PPE, safety knives, plasters, metal detectable pens etc.
* Ensure metal detection equipment is working correctly through testing, calibration and conformity.
* Use, manage and master Safefood 360 food safety software and its requirements.
* Support the Technical function on site.
* Complete monitoring documents from manufacturing processes.

* Strong written communication with good punctuation, spelling and grammar.
* Self-starter with an analytical and methodical approach to work.
* Diligent, accurate, honest and able to maintain professional standards.
* Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
* Strong verbal, written and digital communication skills.
* Good numeracy skills.
Company Requirements
* Regularly review and audit the business, working practices, hygiene, personnel, product, and packaging.
* Work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.
* Liaise with external contractors, ensuring visitor and contractor policies are followed.
* Gather insurance, risk assessments and method statements from contractors pre-work.
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
* Daily management and filing of all technical and TQS documentation.
* Liaise with independent UKAS-accredited laboratories for testing and sampling regimes.
* Maintain weekly stock takes, ensuring levels are adequate to manage value and resources.
* Ensure engineering compliance with Health & Safety and hygiene rules.
* Support BMPA compliance.
* Liaise at all levels with Directors, Managers, Supervisors and colleagues.
