Responsibilities
* Work with clients, architects and facility managers to develop FAM strategies and detailed solutions for complex architectural projects.
* Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, drawings and, where appropriate, 3D models to communicate strategies to clients and architects.
* Review technical designs produced by subcontractors.
* Witness FAM equipment fabrication and installation.
* Manage multiple projects, monitoring performance against timelines, resourcing, fees and change control.
* Manage team resources in conjunction with other associates and overseas offices.
* Oversee junior engineers in the production of deliverables.
* Deliver training and knowledge sharing to junior staff; participate in the production of internal technical guidance notes.
* Support delivery of the business plan by attending BD activities, representing EOC in project settings and selected industry events.
* Line‑manage junior team members, conduct appraisals, and oversee training and development.
* Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and in commercial and contractual negotiations with clients.
* Develop relationships with clients, architects and collaborators.
Qualifications
* A degree in engineering, architecture, materials science or a related subject (or equivalent professional experience).
* 3+ years' experience in FAM engineering or another relevant field.
* Proven experience on complex, technically demanding projects of the highest architectural quality.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative approach.
* Excellent working knowledge of access and maintenance equipment and systems.
* Excellent working knowledge in the application of BS/EN and relevant international standards.
* Excellent knowledge of H&S regulations and their application to access and maintenance.
* Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
* Ability to support and guide others in a collaborative team environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of design reports, presentations, technical notes, factory and site visit reports.
* Excellent visual communication skills covering sketches, drawings and preferably 3D modelling.
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution.
* Ability to meet project timelines and deadlines.
* Experience and proven ability in the technical, process or financial aspects of project management.
* Working knowledge of digital design / modelling software; proven experience developing effective approaches to producing deliverables and communicating concepts.
* Ability to adapt management approach to suit the particular project, client and team.
* A keen interest in architecture and availability for some project‑related travel.
