Compton Care is a Wolverhampton-based charity providing specialist care and support to individuals living with life limiting conditions, as well as their loved ones. Our high-quality, accessible services are delivered free of charge, whether at our purpose-built inpatient facilities or in the comfort of people's homes. Every aspect of our care is tailored to individual needs, helping patients and their families feel safe and supported, and empowered during some of the most critical moments in their lives.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our organisation and ensure we remain responsive, resilient, and rooted in the communities we serve.
The Role of the Trustee
In bringing their own individual ability and flair to the table, our Trustees play a key role in ensuring Compton develops and agrees its long-term strategy, approves annual operational plans and budget forecasts that ensure sustainability and growth. From a governance perspective, Trustees ensure the organisation follows its governing documents, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations and that it allocates its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects and for public benefit.
In addition to the above statutory duties, each Trustee should use their specific skills, knowledge, or experience to help the Board reach sound decisions. This may involve scrutinising Board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues where the Trustee has specialist expertise.
