Summary
Opportunity to be part of a small dynamic tax team supporting all activities of the National Trust. You will provide support and advice to colleagues on a variety of tax issues, including Gift Aid, VAT, Exhibition Tax Relief and Business Rates. You will have opportunities to prepare tax returns and claims with the guidance of the Tax Manager and Head of Taxation.The advertised salary for this role will be in effect from 1st April.

However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
You will provide support on a variety of tasks covering the full tax base for a large charity. You will be responsible for the end to end processing of gift aid claims valuing over £50m a year, including checks on data quality. You will support with the preparation of VAT and Corporation Tax returns, including exhibition tax relief claims for the National Trust and its subsidiaries. You will handle day to day queries from colleagues across the organisation on all taxes including identify when queries should be escalated.
Who we're looking for

In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below: •Financial and tax knowledge, including understanding basic principles of VAT and/or Gift Aid•Strong IT skills with the ability to learn and utilise new applications and systems•Ability to work with and manage large volumes of data•ATT or AAT part qualified or qualified by experience •Well-developed communication skills with ability to explain finance concepts clearly to a range of audiencesAdditional criteria for all other applicants: •Previous experience of working in a finance or tax department•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables•Ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
