ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nLOCATION- Southampton\n\nTERM- Permanent\n\nSALARY- £25,000-£40,000, dependent on experience \n\nMy client is a specialist manufacturer of precision components. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.\n\nThe Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\n0-5 years’ experience in a similar Design / CAD Engineering position\nIdeally Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar\nPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment\nExperience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar highly-regulated industries would be beneficial \nBe proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks or Inventor\nExperience designing precision parts and components would be beneficial \nExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, fabrication, castings, machining etc.\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written\nProficient using MS Office\nExcellent organisational skills and time management skills\nHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team \n\n The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nUsing CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings\nLiaising with manufacturing providers\nBeing involved in final assembly of products\nCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans\nUpdating 3D models and drawings\nInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs\nChecking drawings for sign off\nWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects \n\n If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
