Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist – Preclinical Development to join a leading biotechnology company based in London. As the Research Scientist – Preclinical Development, you will be responsible for advancing innovative gene therapy solutions by providing technical execution of development projects and supporting the preclinical team in vector development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Research Scientist - Preclinical Development will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Utilise your understanding of AAV vectorology and molecular biology to help advance our client's AAV platform.
2. Assist in developing next-generation AAV platforms and constructing and screening libraries of capsid variants.
3. Design and execute assays for quantitative assessment of gene expression in cell models and assist in AAV vector production.
4. Lead in the development and drafting of SOPs/Work instructions for assays that are being developed.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application for this exciting opportunity as the Research Scientist - Preclinical Development, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. PhD or Masters degree in molecular/biological sciences.
2. Proven biotechnology industry experience in molecular biology and AAV vectorology.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with analytical techniques such as Western Blot, qPCR, and flow cytometry.
