Job Summary
Pay: After probation: £14.50 per hour. For the hours between and 11pm and 7am £20.00 per hour
Shifts:
Full Time = 1 x day shift – 7am to 7pm and 2 x night shift 7pm to 7am alternating to
2 x day shifts - 7am to 7pm and 1 x Night shift
Over a 4-week rolling rota.
Part Time: 1 x day shift – 7am to 7pm and 1 x night shift 7pm to 7am
You must be within 25 miles of Taunton
To provide complex care for a 53-year old gentlemen who has Muscular Dystrophy.
You will carry out all of the same duties as a Care Assistant. However, you will also deliver some specialist clinical care including PEG Feeding Stoma Care, Non-Invasive Ventilator Care, Nebuliser Care, Cough Assist Machine, Mouth Care. And a Communication Device. We provide full training on all these procedures.
You will need an absolute minimum of one-year previous care experience, either with a care provider, a nursing home or hospital setting or delivered care in the community to a client with complex care needs. Have a good understanding and experience in skills such as moving and handling.
Duties:
* Assist client with all personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Perform light housekeeping tasks
* Follow a full care plan based on this individual's needs
* Keep accurate records of care provided.
Qualifications:
- An NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with client and his family
- Ability to drive the client's adapted vehicle is desirable, a valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Proficiency in IT for record keeping and communication purposes
- Fluent in English to ensure clear and effective communication
