Role title: Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Gillingham.
Hours: 10 hours per week on a rota basis including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Gillingham, you will support the store management team and contribute to a positive customer experience by carrying out allocated tasks to maximise sales and profit, supporting continuous improvement of the store, and delivering great customer service through core service principles.
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Greeting customers in a friendly manner, answering inquiries about products and services, assisting customers in finding items, processing purchases efficiently at tills, and upselling where appropriate.
* Store Operations: Stock handling, checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, rotating stock for freshness and expiry dates, and completing tasks such as date checking, stock and gap checks, price changes, promotional displays, and other duties as required.
* Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Key Skills / Knowledge
* Previous experience in a similar role or industry is preferred.
* Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail.
* Some understanding of the legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the ability to assist with adherence.
* Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward.
* Experience with a Challenge 25 policy is desirable.
* Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently.
* Cash handling experience is preferred but not essential.
