The Role
The business is seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to join the senior leadership team. This pivotal position carries responsibility for all aspects of financial management and offers the opportunity to shape the future of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
* Develop and deliver timely and accurate weekly key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
* Prepare and present comprehensive monthly management accounts, providing insightful analysis of financial performance against targets and identifying areas for improvement.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
* Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and tax advisors.
* Develop and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
* Maintain market-competitive pricing of products and services.
Commercial Insight, Efficiency and KPI building.
* Drive efficiency by uncovering bottlenecks and streamlining workflows to deliver measurable cost savings.
* Utilise data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
* Proven ability to analyse financial and commercial data to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
* Experience developing and monitoring KPIs to measure business performance and drive continuous improvement.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link financial outcomes to business strategy.
* Ability to challenge existing processes and propose practical, value-adding alternatives.
* Skilled at producing insightful reports and dashboards that support strategic decision making.
* Track record of improving efficiency through better use of systems, automation, and streamlined reporting.
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with leadership teams to align financial performance with business objectives
Strategic Leadership & Growth:
* Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business.
* Partner with the MD and advisors to develop and execute strategies aimed at achieving £2m EBITDA within a 4-year timeframe.
* Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including investment appraisals and growth initiatives.
* Develop financial models and projections to support strategic planning and forecasting.
* Monitor and analyse market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities and risks.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified Accountant (CIMA ESSENTIAL) or equivalent.
* Proven experience as a Finance Manager, ideally in a complex, operational environment.
* Track record in process improvement, KPI development, and financial reporting.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financials into actionable insights.
* A strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and hands-on drive.
* Confident with Excel and financial systems (experience with ERP or BI tools is an advantage).
