Project Support Officer – Children’s Services Transformation
Initial 3-6 month interim contract
£250 Umbrella per day

We are seeking an experienced Project Support Officer to join the Children’s Transformation team working closely with a key leader to drive and support the delivery of the Families First national programme—a key part of a major transformation initiative within the council's Children’s Social Care service.

About your role as Project Support Officer
* You will provide essential project support to a Senior Project Manager, ensuring smooth delivery of programme objectives.
* This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Maintain accurate project documentation (action logs, risk registers, decision records).
* Schedule and organise meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
* Prepare reports and presentations for governance boards and programme updates.
* Monitor progress against milestones and update project plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
* Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners.
* Track and elevate issues or risks for resolution.
* Assist in developing dashboards and performance reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
Your required experience as Project Support Officer
* Proven experience as a Project Officer, Business Support or in Project Management support.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable working with data and digital tools.
* Degree-level education (essential); Project Management qualification (desirable).
* Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
* Ideally you will haveFamiliarity with AI tools and data visualisation platforms.
* Experience in Children’s Social Care or public sector transformation programmes is preferred but not essential
