We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our vibrant Science department within a high-achieving co-educational school in Lambeth. This is an excellent chance to play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of science practicals and co-curricular activities, fostering a love of science in all students. About the Role: Preparing, setting out, and clearing away equipment and materials for science lessons and practical examinations across the curriculum (including checking and/or calibrating equipment) in accordance with required timescales. Maintaining a safe and well-resourced science laboratory environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Assisting science teachers in the preparation and delivery of practical lessons and demonstrations. Providing technical support to teachers and ensuring the smooth running of science experiments and investigations. Contributing to the maintenance and stock control of science equipment and resources. Participating in departmental meetings and training opportunities. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Science Technician (or equivalent experience) with a strong understanding of scientific principles and laboratory procedures. Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively. A meticulous and safety-conscious approach to work, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations in the laboratory environment. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff and students. A strong commitment to promoting science education and a love of learning in students.
